Icon Day 25!

Name of Day: Icon Day 25
Description of Service: I am open for requests for watercolor and ink icons! They are for free, or for tips.
Who is Eligible: everyone!
Date/Time Window: requests are open now, and will stay open until I wake up on Thursday, the 11th.
Tipping? tips are accepted but not required. There are incentives for folks who tip - for example, people who tip now get two icon requests.

Poetry Fishbowl on Tuesday, April 2

NAME OF THING: April 2013 Poetry Fishbowl
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE: You give me a prompt and I write a poem based on it. This month's theme is "fantasy in other eras."
WHO IS ELIGIBLE (preferably this should be available to anyone!): Everyone. Come one, come all! Bring some friends.
DATE/TIME WINDOW: Tuesday, April 2. Active window varies but a typical range is about noon to midnight.

This is an advance announcement for the April 2 2013 Poetry Fishbowl. This time the theme will be "fantasy in other eras." I'll be soliciting ideas for fantasy heroes and villains, character types specific to historic ages, historic or futuristic artifacts, palaces, temples, other classic fantasy settings, lost civilizations, how fantasy changes (or doesn't) over time, different types of magic, the evolution of understanding magic, and poetic forms in particular.

The theme is an effort to get away from the medieval/Renaissance flavor of most fantasy literature.  All cultures are welcome.  Here's a list of time periods around the world.  Fantasy can be set in an analog of the ordinary world, or in a different world.

March Prompt Session

Name of Day: March Prompt Session
Description of Service: Leave me a prompt or random number and I'll write 500 words on the theme of hidden and lost things. All stories will be set in one of my collections. Links will gain a prompter 500 words per platform, which can be used in any way.
Who is Elgible: Everyone.

NAME OF THING: March Poetry Fishbowl
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE: You give me a prompt and I write a poem based on it. This month's theme is "houses and homes."
WHO IS ELIGIBLE (preferably this should be available to anyone!): Everyone. Come one, come all! Bring some friends.
DATE/TIME WINDOW: Tuesday, march 5. Active window varies but a typical range is about noon to midnight.

This is an advance announcement for the March 5, 2013 Poetry Fishbowl. This time the theme will be "houses and homes." I'll be soliciting ideas for houses, other buildings that people live in, traditional types of dwellings such as roundhouses, landmark homes of famous people, exotic types of shelter, architects, construction workers, people who live in houses, homeless people, travelers who take their lodgings with them, events that typically happen inside houses, things that happen to houses, changes a home experiences over time, objects commonly found in homes, things one really wouldn't expect to find in a house, and poetic forms in particular.

DATE/TIME WINDOW: Tuesday, February 5. Active window varies but a typical range is about noon to midnight.

This is an advance announcement for the February 2013 Poetry Fishbowl. This time the theme will be "mature and old adults." I'll be soliciting ideas for middle-aged characters, seniors, their descendants, their friends, objects associated with maturity, signs of respect, places where mature or senior people congregate, unexpected places to find older folks, societies in which elders are honored, societies that are falling apart because elders are NOT honored, ways in which elders solve problems differently than younger people, challenges particular to mature or senior adults, how resources change as one ages, dealing gracefully with old age, beating old age over the head with a stick instead, ways in which mature or older bodies are beautiful, and poetic forms in particular.
